My computer wants me to upgrade to this new version. Does it work or will I have to upgrade Jaws to 10?
It works okay for me, though I only use Jaws 9 when using CMS I use for my voluntary work. It does work though on other websites. Jaws 10 works better, and you can download that from the Jaws website, and use your Jaws 9 authorisation to upgrade I think.
I upgraded to IE8 earlier this afternoon, but it most definitely did not work with JAWS nine. I had to go back and uninstall it. For some reason, I'm having trouble getting JAWS ten working correctly on my computer, so I need to call FS and get some help.
It works fine for me with Jaws 9.
That's really weird. It wouldn't work at all for me. I couldn't even navigate the menus.
Gemini, what's your issue with JAWS 10? I.e., what's the specific error, if any? If there's no error, what is the problem?
Well, for one thing, my start menu gets screwed up. Normally, it'll say things like, Internet explorer, I, email, e, etc., but with JAWS ten, it gives each item the same letter.
While I'm on the Internet, the auto forms doesn't work, and it also screws up my headings. It'll tell me that there are no headings on a page, when in fact, there are.
I'm not sure if there are any other problems with it; I just got so frustrated with it, I uninstalled it.
Anyway, nothing seemed to work. I tried installing it from my disk they sent, and I thought maybe it was a bad disk or something, so I tried downloading it directly from the site, but I had the same problems.
I downloaded IE 8, and there arn't too many differences except sometimes Jaws loses focus, and gets stuck somewhere where I can't read the page.
I'm having issues where there's this big blinking cursor that makes it hard to type in edit boxes on the internet, and outlook express. This starting happening a few weeks ago. I can't read notpad documents either.
